English Language Challenges

my experience with English was good. I managed to learn many new things that were not taught in school. however I feel I still have to learn more

In the school I haven’t got much time for this subject so my English is very basic. This activity is very difficult for me because I didn’t practice this language at school or had the experience of speaking this language in the daily life so this activity is very difficult for me. I read all my classmates´ comments. Also, I comment on their blogs. I think this would be better if this activity was in pairs because I could learn more and better with other people. I like writing about books, sports and movies because they are my favourite topics. This activity helped me to improve my English, but, to learn better I need more hours and spend more days in this activity. Maybe I need to enroll in an institute which teaches this language. Another form to learn this language is to travel to other country because this language is very important to my career, much information about this career is only found in English.

My personal evaluation is positive, I learn very much English in comparition to last year, but I need to learn very much to speak , read and specially write this language in the future. these days I use this language to help my sister with her homework at school

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I study sociology. I would like to make many changes in my career. first the curriculum is too long and has too many subjects that definitely have no importance for professional performance. An example of this is the course on the philosophy of social science which does not contribute anything in student performance. Another example is sociology of culture where it is constantly changing teacher course which does not allow the subject has a clear line.

Regarding the duration of the race would make major changes. in Chile the races are too long. in general, students are entitled in my career after 6 years studying which is too. This average would drop to 4 years titulacion subjects and reducing the workload so that students can also work, as at universities like this, study and work is complex.

on the workload, as just noted, should go down, because so students could find part-time jobs that allow them to save money or to pay for their studies and not be indebted as today it is an important number of students must for 20 years, the high cost of studying. lower academic load will allow work to save money, invest it and also devote more time to other kinds of activities such as sports entretencion or simply share with family and relax and not only the studies.

regarding the facilities we need to improve a lot. the truth is that this situation agglomeration student with the bicentenary project improved, but remains insufficient, and the lack of facilities is evident in my faculty. also it would be good to improve sports facilities with a gym that allows students to perform physical activity

in relation to technology I think we need to use it more. classes remain on a blackboard. considering the current technology could be tested with other technologies to become more interactive and attractive for student learning. for example the use of interactive whiteboards makes the student maintains a constant attention to what it seeks to teach. Governments could reach certain agreements with these brands to bring this technology to the country, as occurs in European countries.

regarding teaching methods I think are good. Career teachers are updating their conocmientos constantly so their teaching methods are in line with what students need to understand all content so that teachers teach their students

winter holidays

during these vacacions I would like to visit San Jose de Maipo, beach and snow. I would like to visit these places with my family and closest friends. I think San Jose de Maipo is an idea to place to visit during the winter tions because it allows people conectrarse with nature a few kilometers from Santiago. the places I like to visit from San Jose de Maipo and which intend to go in these tions winter is moral bathrooms, a town in the foothills of the Andes Mountains a few kilometers from the border with Argentina and then and there address the national monument purple which has a couple of incredible lakes and a glacier at this time last year should be filled with snow.

Secondly I would like to write to the beach to relax and disconnect from the routine life of santiago. I like the beach mainly for its parties and diversion.ademas to rest in this place I dedicate to recycle waste that is always everywhere on the coast of chile

I also like to go to the snow, snow typical centers visited by tourists where many activities can be. I've never been and I think that should a spectacular panorama for vations but also I think it must be expensive, so probably choose one of my first 2 choices.

although all the main activities meccionadas will see football as the America's Cup comes and hope not to miss any football match

the strikes

The strike does not help the Chilean education. the strike is not an end in itself is a way of pressure, and in the case of the Chilean student movement has been very effective to concentrate the attention of the press and the authorities.

the strike has historically been used by various associations and movements to achieve different objectives. generally associated labor demands character, but in the current Chilean case the strike is observed mainly in the establishment of educational character, both school and university

As noted above, the strike has proved very effective for citizens to discuss deficiencies in Chilean education

It is important to consider the strike as a means to achieve a goal. in the case of Chile in 2006 and 2011 it was very important since strikes that occurred in those years forced the authorities and citizens to discuss education and propose changes and reforms.

it is important to strike work has the support of most social actors involved in the conflict, officials, academics, and students and to the extent possible, in the Chilean case teachers to help as much as possible in these actions and do not seek to discredit

when the strike does not work some groups more radicalized its position occupying university or work facilities. estaccion is considered still more violent than the strike and seeks to hasten the processes of response of authorities interpellated

Master

in the future I would like to make a master on the sociology of health. I would like to make this expertise that want to learn about public policy that is used in Chile in relation to health issues.

In Chile it is possible to see many shortcomings. first low wages, poor education quality and access to health quite poor, especially in regions where there are only very few general practitioners and medical specialists. from this it becomes crucial to address these issues from sociology to better understand the difficulties and propose some solutions from these discipline that could help improve this situation and many others

I specifically like to make a master of public health, since this specialty commission to investigate and propose public policies distibtas utilies for the population of a country.

I would like to make this expertise in the School of Public Health of the University of Chile, as its public health school Salvador Allende is recognized nationally as well as internationally in all health-related issues in our country.

I prefer to make a masters in person and not over long distances, because personally I may commit more and better measure my work.

it is important to consider the costs of expertise. in general the Masters of the University of Chile are expensive so this issue will be very important to consider when doing or not doing mastery in this university

My future job

At the moment I am a student of sociology.In the future, I would like to work in the sociology of education. Educational sociology is to investigate all issues related to education in our country and in the world. In the future I hope to work in many different places, office, outdoors, colleges.

All places where education is delivered. I imagine this work as very exciting because I hope to help many people. Furthermore, I think that it is a very entertaining job. I think this job can be applied both in the office and outdoors, I personally like more outdoors. I would like to travel thanks to my job, because I think it is best to be in constant motion. In the future, I would like to follow a master’s degree on sociology of education or sociology of culture. The sociology of culture is very interesting because it studies  every Western culture. My main interest is to study the Chilean culture and its characteristics

Another thing I like is studying psychology. I think psychology is a very interesting career to study the human mind and human behavior. I find this very interesting because I think it is important to understand the reasons for the behavior of human beings. Finally, I would like to study this career that closely related to sociology. 

party

one of my best holidays when the school was finished. this party was held at a place in the center of Santiago. It was very entertaining party. They attended all colleagues with their respective partners. was not only an entertaining party, also was the final party of a process that for all finishing high represented a special moment of our life. This party in December 2008 and never more we got back together all fellow high school.

in relation to the party itself, I can say that some dressed more formally, others definitely dressed informally, which made more simple and fun the party.

the party took an emotional first part where the parents of the students were and delivery of diplomas to. then the party continued only with students and their guests. take much alcohol, we ate a lot of food and we shared many anecdotes about the whole process as comapñeros secondary.

It was a long party, it was extended until late, with many colleagues intoxicated by alcohol, but despite this had extremely well. It would be fun to see my old high school classmates and repeat a party like this in which all graduates we meet again and again you you remember our anecdotes
